Acoustic Cohesion: The Coherent Soundstage in Open Environments
In open-air environments—where sound is not contained by walls—the quality of sound dispersion is paramount. DC GOLD’s unique design provides superior acoustic coherence compared to conventional speakers.
The Cohesion Problem: Phase Distortion
Conventional speakers are multi-point sources. They use a large woofer and a separate, smaller tweeter, splitting the signal via a crossover. As a listener moves away from the direct "sweet spot" (off-axis), the sounds from the woofer and the tweeter arrive at slightly different times.
This time difference causes phase distortion and "lobing"—the sound becomes unbalanced, hollow, and loses its clarity.
The Single-Point Source Solution
DC GOLD drivers are a single, full-range point source because one voice coil drives the entire frequency spectrum.
- Consistent Sound: All sound originates from the exact same physical location. This acoustic purity eliminates phase issues and ensures the sound is perfectly coherent and balanced regardless of the listener's position.
- Wide Dispersion: This design results in an exceptionally wide and consistent sound field. Whether you are at the helm, on the patio, or walking around the perimeter, the music retains its clarity, impact, and natural quality.
The result is pure, uncolored audio, free from the mechanical and electronic compromises of conventional multi-driver speakers.
